Privacy Policy

We use our own analytics to count page views and improve the guide. Public guide pages include an advertising script for our Google AdSense review application. A contact form is not currently available.

Analytics

We record the date in Japan time, page viewed, referring domain, device category and approximate country inferred from the connection, plus prefecture or state when supplied by the hosting platform. A random ID specific to this website is stored in a cookie to distinguish new and returning visits and count visiting browsers. Analytics does not store names, email addresses, IP addresses, search terms or URL queries. We do not match this data to advertising IDs or supply it to external advertising or analytics services. Analytics data is processed and stored in the hosting service's database and is accessible only to the site operator. The current hosting environment supports country-level measurement. Prefectures or states are recorded only when the platform supplies them. Location uses the platform's coarse regional information; we do not collect or store GPS data, addresses, municipalities, latitude or longitude. VPNs and mobile networks may result in a location different from the visitor's actual location. Location is recorded when a visit starts and is not added retrospectively. IDs expire 180 days after the last measurement; visit records are kept for 90 days. Expired records are progressively deleted when the site receives traffic.

A gap of 30 minutes or more after the last page view starts a new visit. Visits before this system was introduced, deleted or expired cookies, and other devices or browsers are treated as new. This system does not identify individual people. Visits are not measured if cookies cannot be stored. A separate settings cookie excludes a browser that opens the admin screen from measurement for 180 days.

Analytics settings

Use the controls below to stop future measurement from this browser. The opt-out is stored in a cookie for 365 days and the analytics ID is removed from the browser. Set this separately on each device or browser. Deleting all cookies also removes the opt-out. Existing aggregate statistics remain. Restarting measurement creates a new ID and counts as new. We also do not measure visits when DNT or GPC opt-out signals are sent. These controls apply to this website's own analytics; use the links below for Google's advertising settings.

External links are governed by the destination's policies. The hosting service's policies also apply to identity verification and content delivery.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on previous visits to this and other websites. Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to show ads tailored to a visitor's interests. Advertising requires Google's review and approval.
